Why would a CCR diver attach an inflator hose to their deco gas bottles?

Inflator hoses on a deco bottle can be used to connect the stage bottle to the rebreather as off board gas. This allows O2 or other gas to be used to manage the ppO2 when onboard O2 is running low.
